Cats are extremely curious - they love testing new toys, exploring the world around, and also tasting new food they see.

While domestic cats are usually away from potential danger, some human food can be pretty bad for them.

Here are a few examples of food you shouldn't give to your cat.

Chocolate

Cats can't handle chocolate. It has stuff called theobromine that's bad for them.

Alcohol

Alcohol can make cats really sick. Even a little bit is harmful.

Onions and Garlic

These make your cat's red blood cells go wonky, which is bad. Avoid them.

Bones

Cooked bones can splinter and hurt your cat's insides. Don't let them chew on bones.

Caffeine

Like in coffee or tea. Cats can't handle it, so keep it away.

Milk

Contrary to popular belief, most adult cats are lactose intolerant. Milk can give them an upset tummy.

Grapes and Raisins

These can make cats sick and even damage their kidneys.

Raw Eggs and Raw Fish

They can have things that mess with your cat's digestion. It's best to cook them first.

Dog Food

Dogs and cats have different dietary needs. Cat food is better for your kitty.

Human Medicine

Never give your cat medicine meant for people unless your vet says it's okay.

Conclusion

Make sure your cat's diet is healthy, so you can spend many happy years together with your pet friend!
