Flagshipping animals for conservation efforts: A new study

Researchers suggest that highlighting specific, well-known animals or plants, known as "flagship" individuals, can significantly boost conservation efforts.  While popular species like pandas and polar bears often take the spotlight, the study argues that individual animals or plants can also serve as flagships to raise awareness and garner public support.
