Unlike other plants, the life span of bamboo reaches 120 years. Bamboo has fairly dense leaves, some even woody. The tree blooms only once, when it is already departing.

Soil and moisture

Humidity: Bamboo responds quite well to the low humidity of urban apartments. In summer, bamboo leaves can be sprayed occasionally. Soil: For growing bamboo, clay-soddy soil is suitable, to which humus and peat are added in a ratio of 2: 1: 1.

Watering

Watering should be plentiful, but it depends on the method of cultivation. Most often, bamboo is grown in water or hydrogel, in which case we recommend replenishing the container with the plant in time, preventing drying out. If bamboo is grown in the ground, then it should be watered 3-4 times a week.

Fertilizer

As top dressing, special mineral fertilizers for dracaena are used. Feeding bamboo is recommended every three months. If top dressing is carried out regularly, the leaves and stems will retain their green color throughout the life of the bamboo.

How does bamboo grow in a pot

Bamboo loves fresh air, especially in hot summers. Try to ventilate a room where a lot of houseplants grow several times, but avoid drafts and strong winds. With sufficient care, bamboo grows very quickly and as it grows, it needs to be transplanted into larger and more spacious pots.
