How to grow a pumpkin in the garden

Pumpkin is a heat-loving plant, which is better to start planting in mid-June. The soil should warm up well, and the frosts should go away for good, otherwise the harvest will be poor.

Since the growing season of pumpkin is 4-5 months, it is advisable to grow it using seedlings. Pumpkin seedlings can be prepared at home on the windowsill or in greenhouses.

The root system of the pumpkin is very powerful, so make sure that the soil around it is always well moistened.

Water the pumpkin at least twice a week and very plentifully (3 watering cans for each plant).

Pruning

Limit the growth of side shoots. If you wish, you can leave only a couple of the strongest lashes, except for the main one, and remove the rest.

Such measures will stimulate the plant to develop fruits.
