The seeds of the crop can be sown directly into the soil in late spring or early summer, but in this case, only a small plant will be able to form before the onset of cold weather, which will bloom in the second year of growth.

Pre-winter sowing of seeds in open ground is also allowed, since the crop successfully withstands wintering.

Planting in open ground

It is better to plant plants in a high place where melt water will not stagnate.

In addition, there should be no strong wind or drafts. It is best to plant mallow near the fence.

It will also serve as an ideal support to which you can tie the stems.

The plant should be well illuminated by the sun - in the shade and partial shade the mallows fade and grow poorly.

The soil should be loose and nutritious.

Care

Without moisture, mallow cannot bloom; if the plant lacks water, its decorative properties will suffer, first of all.

However, do not forget about the developed root system of the mallow; the flower can collect water far beyond its root circle.

Is it possible to prune mallow

This can be done at any time of the year.

Diseased or damaged stems should be cut right at the soil line and removed completely.

Flowers should be cut just below the flower head. Pruning should be done in late winter - early spring.
