If your trash bins aren't secured enough, then your front yard will always be full of trash.

Also, your trash can attract wild animals who will walk around and create troubles.

That's how you can avoid it.

Secure Lids

Choose trash bins with secure, locking lids that are difficult for animals to open.

Many bins come with latches or locks designed to keep pests out. Ensure that the lids fit snugly.

Use Bungee Cords

Wrap strong bungee cords or straps around the lids and secure them to the handles or another part of the bin.

This prevents animals from prying the lids open.

Weighted Lids

Place heavy objects on top of the lid, such as a large stone or brick. The added weight makes it much harder for animals to access the contents.

Elevate Bins

Store your trash bins off the ground on a platform or rack. You can build or purchase a simple elevated stand for your bins.

This makes it challenging for animals to reach them.

Double Bagging

Place your garbage in heavy-duty trash bags before putting them in the bin.

Double bagging adds an extra layer of protection against odors and potential leaks.

Timely Disposal

Put out your trash bins on the morning of collection day, rather than the night before. This minimizes the time animals have access to your trash.

Use Animal Repellents

Consider using animal repellents around your trash bin area. There are various sprays and granules available that emit scents animals dislike.
