Cornflakes are often marketed as the best breakfast choice for most Americans.

Lots of people eat them daily in the morning, but are they actually that healthy?

Spoiler - they aren't, and there are a few reasons for that.

They aren't fulfilling enough

Cornflakes may not always be the best choice for breakfast because they are not very filling and don't provide all the important nutrients your body needs to start the day.

They are mostly made of corn and can get soggy quickly when you add milk, making them less enjoyable to eat.

They are too sugary sometimes

Sugary cornflakes are not a good choice for breakfast because they contain a lot of added sugar.

When you eat sugary foods in the morning, your body gets a quick burst of energy, but it doesn't last very long.

This can make you feel hungry again soon after eating.

Also, too much added sugar in your diet can be harmful to your health.

It can lead to problems like weight gain, tooth decay, and even some diseases like diabetes.

There are better options

A better breakfast should include foods that give you more energy and keep you feeling full longer.

Foods like whole-grain cereals, oatmeal, or eggs with fruits and vegetables are better choices because they provide more vitamins, minerals, and fiber that your body needs to stay healthy and active throughout the morning.

Conclusion

Cornflakes are often full of sugar, and they aren't exactly fulfilling enough to keep you full until lunch.

So, while cornflakes can be tasty, they might not give you the best start to your day in terms of nutrition and staying full.
