Use liquid detergents for washing towels.
The baking soda will help keep things bright. Add soda to detergent, use powders for colored laundry.
Separate light-colored things from colored ones. This rule also works for towels, otherwise staining cannot be avoided.
Use mesh bags to wash towels. In this case, they will not come into contact with the drum of the machine, during friction with which they are pulled out and can get tangled.
It is better to wash towels at medium speed at a temperature of 30-40 degrees. Organize proper drying of towels. They should dry in the fresh air and in the shade. In the sun, towels quickly become hard.
