Flowers add comfort to any dwelling, saturate the room with oxygen.

However, sometimes it happens that flowers suddenly begin to wither, drown for no apparent reason then get sick and shrivel up.

The thing is that the plants had been attacked by flower midges, which appeared as a result of excessive watering.

How to get rid of midges that appeared in a flower pot

Usually flower midges appear on plants in winter. The midges themselves are not dangerous to flowers, but their larvae can damage the root system.

If there are a lot of midges in the pot, it is better to transplant the flower so that it does not completely ruin it. The new soil must be disinfected and treated with means from flower midges.

In order to prevent the appearance of midges in flower pots in the future, follow simple rules.

Periodically loosen the soil in pots and beware of frequent water logging of the soil. From time to time, inspect the leaves of plants and remove the diseased ones. It is advisable not to experiment with water for watering flowers.

Midges will quickly appear in pots if the plants are watered with "tea" or "coffee" water.

Chase away the flower midges with 4 matches. Stick each match head into the ground, and then periodically inspect them.

If the sulfur has disappeared, then it's time to stick new matches in the ground. This method will help to cope with midges in four "circles".
