Mirrors have to be perfectly clean, simply because even the smallest spots and stains are quite noticeable.

To make sure your mirrors are clean, you have to maintain them clean all the time, and you should also know some tricks on how to do it more effectively.

Here's how you can achieve that.

Choose the Right Cloth

Select a microfiber cloth or a lint-free cotton cloth. These materials are gentle on the mirror and won't leave fibers behind.

Inspect the Mirror

Before starting, check the mirror for any loose dirt or dust. If there is, gently dust the surface with a soft brush or a microfiber cloth.

Prepare the Cleaning Solution (Optional)

If there are stubborn spots, you can create a simple cleaning solution.

Mix equal parts water and vinegar or use a commercial glass cleaner. However, plain water works well for regular cleaning.

Dampen the Cloth

Dampen the chosen cloth with water or the cleaning solution if you've opted for one. Ensure it's just damp, not dripping.

Wipe the Mirror

Start wiping the mirror from the top and move down.

You can use horizontal or vertical strokes, or a circular motion. Be consistent to cover the entire surface.

Focus on Spots

Pay special attention to any spots or smudges.

If there are sticky residues, you might need to apply a bit more pressure while wiping.

Clean the Edges and Corners

Don't neglect the edges and corners. Fold the cloth to reach into corners and ensure the entire mirror is cleaned.

Dry the Mirror

Once you've wiped the mirror, take a dry part of the cloth or a separate dry cloth to go over the surface again. This helps prevent streaks.

Check for Streaks or Residue

Examine the mirror for streaks or any remaining residue. If you spot any, repeat the process in those areas.

Final Inspection

Step back and inspect the mirror. Ensure it's sparkling clean and free of any marks.

Maintain Regular Cleaning

To keep your mirror looking its best, repeat this cleaning process regularly, especially if you notice fingerprints or smudges.
