The kitchen is a place where many cooking odors can gather and accumulate.

While some of them are really good, some can be annoying or off-putting - and you need to mask or eliminate them.

Here are some tips to improve smells in your kitchen.

Ventilation

Open windows or turn on exhaust fans to improve air circulation and remove odors from the kitchen.

Odor-absorbing materials

Place bowls of vinegar, baking soda, or activated charcoal around the kitchen.

Simmering stovetop potpourri

Create a pleasant aroma by simmering a mixture of water and aromatic ingredients on the stovetop.

Coffee grounds

Place a bowl of fresh coffee grounds on the kitchen counter or near the source of the smell.

Natural cleaning solutions

Regularly clean your kitchen surfaces, appliances, and utensils with natural cleaning solutions.

Deep cleaning

Occasionally deep clean your kitchen to eliminate hidden sources of odors.

Eliminating garbage odors

Ensure that your garbage bin has a tight-fitting lid and line it with a garbage bag.

Sprinkle baking soda or place a small sachet of activated charcoal at the bottom of the garbage bin to absorb odors.

Eliminating sink odors

If your kitchen sink has an unpleasant odor, pour a mixture of baking soda and vinegar down the drain.

Eliminating lingering cooking smells

To tackle strong cooking smells like fish or curry, boil a mixture of water and vinegar on the stove.
